The EC135 P2i is fitted with the latest glass cockpit technology. There are 4 LCD screens encompassing all the flight instruments. As a backup, we also have analogue standby instruments, in the event of a total electrical failure.
Twin GNS430’s (Global Navigation System) allow the aircraft to navigate with pinpoint accuracy, these can be coupled to the autopilot which then enable the aircraft to carry out an ILS (instrument landing system) approach at any airport equipped to allow such an approach.
The aircrafts entire equipment and lighting system is NVIS (night vision imaging system) compliant which allows the crew to fly using NVG (Night Vision Goggles). These greatly enhance the operational capability and safety of the aircraft.
